ASA Annual Scientific Meeting 2019

Welcome to the website for the Annual Scientific Meeting of the Astronomical Society of Australia (ASA) 2019. This meeting was held at the University of Queensland, Brisbane, between 7-12 July.

Astronomy within our community has changed dramatically over the last few years. With the ARC Centres of Excellence Astro-3D and OzGrav now in full swing and the joining of ESO in 2017, it is clear that collaboration on national and global scales plays an important role in answering the big questions in astronomy. However, it is also important to recognise that these organisations are made up of individuals; and that it is individuals outside and within these organisations that continue to drive scientific progress.

As such, the goal of this meeting was to bring together astronomers from across Australia and New Zealand to share interesting and excellent research being done by groups of all sizes. We aimed to foster collaboration between people within these often disparate groups and help highlight the contributions from astronomers throughout the community.

We hope we achieved some of these goals and that you had a fun and productive meeting. We look forward to seeing you all in the future.
